Története / Standard
A fajta eredetileg Amerikából származik, tenyésztését az 1990-es években kezdték el. Az Amerikai Bully létrehozásának alapja az amerikai Pit Bull Terrier volt (APBT), melynek vérvonalát finom hangolással ötvözték a tökéletes habitusú és küllemű amerikai staffordshire terrier és hasonló tulajdonságok alapján tenyésztésre kiválasztott különböző bulldogok jegyeivel. A fajtát először tenyészklubja, az American Bully Kennel Club (ABKC) ismerte el 2004-ben, majd az European Bully Kennel Club (EBKC) 2008-ban, amit a United Kennel Club (UKC) követett 2013-ban. Ezen kívül időközben több különböző szervezet alakult meg, többek között a United Bully Kennel Klub (UBKC), Bully Breed Kennel Club (BBKC), United Canine Association (UCA), valamint American Bully Registry (ABR - USA) és American Bully Register (ABR - French). Ennek ellenére az FCI egyelőre még önállónak el nem ismert fajtaként kategorizálja.
Napjainkra a fajta egyre ismertebb és egyre nagyobb teret hódít Európában is.
Jellemzői: Izmos, sportos testfelépítés, erős csontozat, kockás fej, nem mindennapi impozáns megjelenés.

Jelenleg fajtáján belül 6 kategóriába sorolhatók:
Standard: A kanok marmagassága: 43-51 cm, a szukák marmagassága: 40-48 cm között van. (ABKC, EBKC, UBKC, ABR által elfogadott)
Klasszikus: Méretei hasonlóak a Standard kategóriájú fajtársaiéhoz, azonban könnyebb testtömeg és csontozat jellemi. (ABKC, EBKC, ABR által elfogadott)
Extrém: Méretei megegyeznek a Standard és Klasszikus kategóriába tartozó egyedekével, azonban tőlük erősebb és szélesebb testfelépítéssel rendelkeznek. (ABKC, EBKC, UBKC, ABR által elfogadott)
XL: A kanok marmagassága: 51-57 cm, a szukák marmagassága: 48-54 cm között van, testfelépítése társaihoz hasonlóan izmos, erőteljes. (ABKC, EBKC, UBKC, ABR által elfogadott)
Pocket: A kanok marmagassága: 36-43 cm, a szukák marmagassága: 33-40 cm között van, azonban testaránya rövidebb a standard fajtársánál. (ABKC, EBKC, UBKC, ABR által elfogadott)
Micro Exotic: A kanok marmagassága: 33-36 cm, a szukák marmagassága: 30-33 cm között / alatt van, testarányán kívül orrszerkezete is rövidebb fajtársainál. (ABR által elfogadott).
History / Standard
American Bully primary has an American origin, breeding started in the 1990s. Bases for the creation of American Bully was the American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) which bloodline was fine-tuning combined with perfect tempered and appearanced American Staffordshire Terrier and different Bulldogs selected for breeding with similar features. American Bully was originally recognized at first by its own breeding club, the American Bully Kennel Club (ABKC) in 2004, then by the European Bully Kennel Club (EBKC) in 2008 which was followed by the United Kennel Club (UKC) in 2013. Furthermore in the meantime there are several more organization was founded, including United Bully Kennel Klub (UBKC), Bully Breed Kennel Club (BBKC), United Canine Association (UCA), as well as the American Bully Registry (ABR - USA) and American Bully Register (ABR - French). Nevertheless FCI at this time still compartmentalizes this breed for a "stand-alone" breed.
However, lately American Bully is a better known breed and gaining more and more of a hold over in Europe.
Characteristics: Muscular, athletic build, strong skeletal, 'cube' headform, not every day impressive appearance.
Nature: Despite the breed's robust body structure and significant look American Bully is a real, loyal mate. Playful, active, funny, trustful, perfect family favorite. American Bully is very friendly with people and other animals as well. They have stable nervous system, intelligent and - with the correct breeding - a very healthy breed, where aggressive behaviour is not acceptable. But American Bully is protecting the family and its property.
Currently there are 6 categories within the breed.
Standard: Males 17-20 inches, females 16-19 inches at the withers. (Accepted by ABKC, EBKC, UBKC, ABR)
Classic: Sizes similar to Standard but characterized by a lighter weight and bone. (Accepted by ABKC, EBKC, UBKC, ABR)
Extreme: Sizes matches with Standard and Classic, however they have a stronger and wider body structure. (Accepted by ABKC, EBKC, UBKC, ABR)
XL: Males 20-23 inches, females 19-22 inches at the withers. Body type is similar to the others, muscular and powerful. (Accepted by ABKC, EBKC, UBKC, ABR)
Pocket: Males under 17 inches but not less than 14, females under 16 inches but not less than 13 inches. Body size is shorter as Standard. (Accepted by ABKC, EBKC, UBKC, ABR)
Micro Exotic: Males 9-10 inches, females 8-9 inches at the withers. Body size and nose structure is shorter as well. (Accepted only by ABR)
